The B-Team Cougars roared back into the win column with a resounding 26-6 victory over Seneca Falls in FLYFCL action on Sunday. The Cougars opened the day with a long sustained drive consisting of runs by Dylan Nichols, Jonathan Templeton, and Mitchell Slymon. The drive was capped by a TD run by Nichols and an extra point pass conversion from Slymon to Derek Childs making it 7-0. Seneca Falls roared right back with a long drive of its own, only to have a pass attempt intercepted by Mason Marble. This huge swing in momentum led the Cougars to go on another long, time consuming drive consisting of key runs by Slymon and Shane Olin. Key blocks up front were made by offensive linemen Sam Tripi, Jon Kabes, Tyson Foster, and Troy Baker. Mitchell Slymon eventually connected on a TD strike to a wide open Derek Childs and another extra point pass to Sam Tripi to go up 14-0 early.

The Cougars defense remained stout, taking the ball away on a fumble recovery that would allow Cole Carpenter and Brett Hooper to run out the clock at the half. In the very first drive of the second half, Turner Kamm quickly intercepted a Seneca Falls pass and set up the Cougars for more scoring. QB Hooper and Jacob Calhoun would trade running duties, with Calhoun punching it in for a 20-0 lead in the third. SF would answer back with a long TD run of their own, making it 20-6 late in the third quarter. Any thoughts that the Blue Devils would have on a comeback were quickly dashed on a huge stop on fourth down by Joshua Griffith, who had a great day on defense. Mitchell Slymon would end the scoring on the day with a QB keeper making the final 26-6. The B-Team Cougars look to maintain their winning ways against a strong Marcus Whitman squad in Rushville next Sunday, Sept. 30th at 12:00PM.
