The HFL Cougars B Team looked great in their season opener on Sunday versus the Seneca Falls Blue Devils in Honeoye Falls.

The B team tallied a convincing 40-12 win over the visiting Blue Devils. The Cougars started their scoring run with some nice power running capped by Dylan Nichols TD run on their first drive. Seneca Falls rallied right back, and proceeded to go on a long drive into Cougars territory on the next series, only to be thwarted by a timely interception by Derek Childs. This change in momentum set the stage for the Cougars to ring up 33 unanswered points. The Cougars tallied TD's on several long runs by Dylan Nichols, Jacob Calhoun, and Mitchell Slymon. The stout HFL defense was led by Ryan Allen, who had an outstanding day on defense. The Cougars played great team defense, showing discipline and athleticism against a crafty Seneca Falls offense that ran many reverses and play action passes in an attempt to catch HFL defenders napping.
